MOVING] is an of exhibition of photographs taken
by Bobby Lloyd and Caroline Christie. The venue is four red
London Routemaster buses, number 38. It uses all the advertising
space on the interior lower and upper decks as well as the exterior
The show consists of approximately 55 photographic images taken
over a 2 year period, between September 2003 and August 2005,
in the Channel Tunnel Rail Link site at Stratford and the landscape
that will become home to London’s Olympics in 2012. These
are located in the Lower Lea Valley, within the London boroughs
of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham.
Exhibition runs until 28th October 2005.
The project offers Londoners and visitors a unique glimpse of
the at times dramatic and usually hidden changes happening in
the 2012 Olympic area. The exhibition has been designed to reach
the widest possible audience as it travels from one of the Olympic
Boroughs (Hackney) to the centre of London.
Lloyd and Christie are co-founders of On Site Arts. They are
also Hackney-based artists who have exhibited widely. They have
independently travelled and worked extensively overseas, particularly
in war and post-conflict zones such as Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan.
