[RE: MOVING]

[RE: MOVING] is an of exhibition of photographs taken by Bobby Lloyd and Caroline Christie. The venue is four red London Routemaster buses, number 38. It uses all the advertising space on the interior lower and upper decks as well as the exterior back panel.

The show consists of approximately 55 photographic images taken over a 2 year period, between September 2003 and August 2005, in the Channel Tunnel Rail Link site at Stratford and the landscape that will become home to London’s Olympics in 2012. These are located in the Lower Lea Valley, within the London boroughs of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Newham.

DATES
Exhibition runs until 28th October 2005.

THE RATIONALE
The project offers Londoners and visitors a unique glimpse of the at times dramatic and usually hidden changes happening in the 2012 Olympic area. The exhibition has been designed to reach the widest possible audience as it travels from one of the Olympic Boroughs (Hackney) to the centre of London.

BACKGROUND

Lloyd and Christie are co-founders of On Site Arts. They are also Hackney-based artists who have exhibited widely. They have independently travelled and worked extensively overseas, particularly in war and post-conflict zones such as Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan. Recently they have found ample material to work with closer to home.

This exhibition is funded by Arts Council, England.
With thanks to Transport for London, Arriva and the Channel Tunnel Rail Link site at Stratford.
